About who needs care: My father is turning 90 and still lives alone. He has been fine living on his own until recently - he still drives, goes to his appointments (on his own), feeds himself and baths etc but he is becoming incontinent. We need someone to check in on him and help him clean up every couple of days. We might be interested in light meal prep as well as he is not eating as well as he used to - and he is also diabetic You should also know that my father is a hoarder and his house has gotten worse. He gets angry if we throw things away without consulting with him so we aren't asking the caregiver to take that on (my sisters and I will handle this). He is quite the character - very funny, friendly and his mind is still sharp. He's an Italian immigrant so has an accent but isn't difficult to understand. He mostly watches Italian TV and feeds the birds out his window. He sleeps in until late so we are looking for afternoon care. We are looking for someone who can handle this type of situation - someone who is empathetic, kind and patient. We are also looking into assisted living options for later in the year.
