About the job
My Dad tries to be as independent as possible and keep a structure to his day and keep himself busy. He likes to work in the yard or at his workbench in the basement. At 98 he has poor eyesight, requires a walker to walk steadily. Good diet and meds keeps his Type 2 diabetes under control. Much of the job is being a good humored companion, an assistant and supporter of his day. Outings to summer concerts or local theater are enjoyed. My dad enjoys his meals. The ability to shop and cook healthy & tasty meals is important. Looking for someone organized, conscientious and a positive personality. Able to drive (appointments, church, outings), prepare meals, errands/shopping, housekeeping (vacuuming, bathrooms, washing dishes, laundry), assistance bathing and dressing (compression socks), medication assistance (due to poor eyesight).
