About who needs care: Care would be given one day a week to a house-bound, 88-year-old male with heart failure. He enjoys discussing news/current events, listening to classical music and playing solitaire. His hobbies are salt water fishing, photography and woodworking. About the care needs: The patient loves to debate politics and is a fervent Trump supporter. So any caregiver should expect commentary in this vein and be able to ignore it without getting upset. The patient also tends to forget the niceties such as "please" and "thank you" when requesting help; he's a bit rough around the edges, but a sweet man once you get to know him! He also has a large Irish Setter dog, but "Duke" is kept mainly outside and then gated in the kitchen. So there would be no direct interaction with the dog, but a caregiver should be comfortable with animals around. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
