About who needs care: My father is a 63-year-old man currently undergoing cancer treatments. He has had a rough year with various health issues and has started to show signs of memory loss/confusion and muscle weakness. He needs assistance with running errands and other daily tasks as well as transportation to and from doctor appointments. He loves music, movies/tv, and comic books. He has diabetes (managed with metformin) and is partial amputee from surgery last year and uses a cane. Most days he loves watching judge Judy. About the care needs: Someone with patience and the ability to explain things in multiple ways. My father is a simple man and sometimes gets confused as well as being a little stubborn. Speaking calmly to him and giving him options helps. For example, instead of telling him he needs to eat lunch, saying that at 1 p.m. we will be eating, what would you like to eat? This or that? Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
