About who needs care: This caregiver needs to enjoy chatting with my 84-year-old mother. She does NOT understand people with heavy accents. The caregiver would also need to be able to assist my mother with overseeing (supervising) my mother with her diabetic care. The caregiver would NOT be giving any medicine but would be monitoring the meds my mother takes. About the care needs: The caregiver needs to have good communication skills and be willing to engage in conversation. The caregiver cannot have a heavy foreign accent. The caregiver needs to understand phone technology and how apps generally work. The caregiver needs to be comfortable about supervising the administration of my mother giving herself medication.
