About who needs care: Very slow moving dementia. Very brilliant succesful therapist who is now retired, bored and widowed. Her hygiene is going down but she still cleans herself. Already have a weekly housecleaner. She lives in a house on same property as me, daughter, and my family in a seperate house. She has a dog that needs more exercise and support. She just wants to get off the farm, have some fun in town and have good conversation. She no longer drives. She likes art, nature, music, wine, good food, shopping (but her spending can be a problem). Laughing, doing enjoyable simple things in company. About the care needs: Positive Light Trying to really get to know her and become a friend, not a caregiver vibe. Make light of her short term memory loss. Help guide her to make decisions and set her mind straight about daily things in a king way. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
