About the job
About who needs care: Recovering from intracerebral hemorrhage. Nearly fully functional but non verbal though her speech continues to improve with time. Hemorrhage occurred 3 1/2 years ago. Very active. Has in home speech therapy and PT. Outpatient appointments for PCP and speech. (2 kinds of speech therapy). Gym member. Takes hikes and biking. Does art work at home. Church on Sundays. Cant prepare meals. Cant do her hair. Right hand still dealing with loss of fine motor skills. Cant use phone or computer. Limited writing ability. Needs 24 hour supervision. But even then, a young 72 years. Im trying to set in place this option if I should suddenly no longer be able to care for my wife, or die. Im in great shape but one never knows what tomorrow may bring. About the care needs: A fun, outgoing active Christian person who has the patience of Job. Has to enjoy hiking and biking and enjoys doing errands and shopping. Must have initiative. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
