I am looking for a long term, reliable, compassionate, TALKATIVE person with a lot of patience to care for a senior with dementia. The time is 10:30-1:30 or 11:00-2:00 p.m. on Fridays. Duties include administering medication, making a salad, cutting up fruit for snacks, light housework to make sure kitchen, dining area and bathroom are clean. Prompting her to wash her hands, brush her teeth and most importantly keep her company by TALKING with her about your day or what is happening on the tv. She likes watching news on MSNBC or Elvis or watch old movies She has dementia so every other day she is either friendly or grumpy. So, you will need a lot of patience and persistence as it's not her. It's the disease.
