About who needs care: My parent has vascular dementia. She is still fairly independent and is able to take care of her basic necessities (i. e. feeding and bathing herself). She is struggling to keep up with her routines such as going to yoga, going on walks. She is also fairly isolated and spends a lot of her day alone. She also needs minimal support with managing her medicines and problem solving small house issues (such as turning on the TV). About the care needs: Our ideal caregiver is someone who is able to support her when she needs it but is able to still give her space to feel like an independent adult. The caregiver is someone that is kind and gentle with her who can sometimes get irritable when she is frustrated. We want someone who is able to navigate making decisions with her versus asking for our input with grace - we want to be able to trust you but will also be around for moments when you are unsure. Our ideal caregiver is a social butterfly who is also excited about the idea of building a relationship with her and our family so she feels like a part of our community. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
