My 75-year-old husband, former screenwriter, is in a motorized wheelchair and legally blind due to Multiple Sclerosis. He's mentally alert with a good sense of humor. Usually I take care of him, but I'm scheduled for knee surgery April 1st and we need extra help. This is a temporary assignment. Caregiver responsibilities: - Assist senior in and out of bed and onto commode or wheelchair using a motorized patient lift (we will train you) - Toileting assistance (once a day from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 am) - Foley Catheter Care (empty the bag) - Getting dressed - Giving medication - Companionship and assistance with TV - Meal preparation and feeding breakfast and lunch - Light housekeeping The ideal candidate would have a CNA, LVN or Home Health Aide license and experience working with handicapped patients and catheter care.
