I am a 55-year-old quadriplegic. I need to replace my full-time caregiver (an LVN), who is leaving to pursue his BSN. The position entails basic hygiene, transfers using a Hoyer lift, dressing, showering, bowel program, managing medication, going to appointments and helping me to lead an active lifestyle. There are opportunities to learn wound care, additional nursing skills and electric stimulation therapies. The ability to drive a Sprinter van is a significant plus. My wife will train the candidate. Our home is arranged to make the work efficient. The person will have an in-law suite for their own privacy. The atmosphere is pleasant and without drama. The candidate must be highly dependable and have a positive demeanor. Pay is commensurate with the candidate's education and experience and will be at the upper end of the pay scale.
