About who needs care: Husband has dementia with possible Alzheimer's. Wife is in her 90s. Both need care. About the care needs: The wife, Bev, likes privacy and rarely invites anyone to her house. She is very resistant to getting care. They have a dog, a golden retriever, that is very friendly. There is a regular dog-walker. In future months and years they may need live-in care. But we'd like to start with basic care in the afternoons or late mornings to help them order food for delivery, insure that they take the correct dosage of medications and help with daily cleaning of the house. Bev may be incontinent at times and need reminders to wear diapers. Both of them usually believe that they are capable of taking care of themselves and don't need help but they really do need help. Yesterday, the husband asked me to "take charge" to get them the help they need. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, and light housekeeping.
