About who needs care: My mother-in-law is 87. She moved in with us last year and doesn't have any friends in the area. She needs a companion to hang out with and to get her out of the house. She does read books, likes to go to the library and shopping for food or misc. items. She gets around fairly well and when were out we usually have her use a cane. She also has a walker if long walks, etc. Since she is home a lot and watches the news, she sees the negativity on the news which can impact her mood. We are looking for someone friendly, optimistic and can help put her in a good mood by doing things and hanging out with her. She also likes to do puzzles. There is no set schedule but just trying to fill some of her time throughout the week. Ideally, 2-3 hours on Saturday, possibly some Monday afternoon, and either Thur or Fri. Not required, but if willing some small house tasks like sweeping the floors and/or some light cleaning. Again, flexible on the hours of the suggested dates but definitely would like Saturday. Most important thing, is giving her a friend to help her enjoy life more. About the care needs: Definitely a woman that is warm, friendly and caring. Someone who can come up with things to do to get Mickie out of the house. Weather going shopping (food or small misc. items), she doesn't have much money, or going to the library, a museum or maybe enjoy a park with ducks or anything simple that gets her out of the house. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
