About who needs care: My grandma is a super sweet and kind woman, she is 90. My mom has been her full time caregiver since 2020 but has recently been having health issues and is in the hospital. I will be staying with my grandma at my moms house for the month of January and am looking to transition them into getting help from a caregiver. For now my mom is not in the house but she could be later in the month. What I will need help with is taking care of my grandma while my mom is in the hospital and later recovering. My grandma is very mentally sharp and likes conversation. She is deaf but wears hearing aids and mostly enjoys reading, watching tv, attending her zooms, and calling friends. She will need help with a once a week shower, making small/easy meals and cleaning dishes as well as reminders on her medication and to do her physical therapy. She has some memory issues about small details and for that reason we only have her use the microwave and not cook on the stove. She is also a little clumsy and has fall risk. As of now I don't think she will need assistance with rides anywhere but it could be needed on some occasions. We have two cats which I will be taking care of. I will also handle laundry and larger house keeping. I need help mostly making sure my grandma is fully taken care of while I handle my moms recovery. Thank you for reading!
