Our family is seeking a home caregiver for Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. for our 41-year-old son Jake, who suffers from ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. He lives in downtown Sacramento, near the Capitol. His 6-year-old daughter lives with her mother but stays with him every other weekend from Friday at 5:30 p.m. until Sunday at 4 p.m. We are seeking a caregiver who is experienced with both handicapped care and is also comfortable with child care oversight. Someone who is a non-smoker, CPR/First-Aid trained and fully vaccinated for COVID and has a driver's license. IHSS certification is also preferred, or at minimum, a willingness to apply for it. (We can help you with this.) Having some scheduling flexibility is a plus as there are needs at times for night and day coverage.
