About the job
About who needs care: This is my 34-year-old son. He has a TBI 9 years ago. Non verbal, unable to do anything on his own. Fed through a mickey tube in the stomach. A normal day is fed and meds at 8am, dressed and in wheelchair around 10:30, fed at 12pm, water at 2 p.m. Run errands if necessary. fed again at 4 p.m. Put in his recliner around 4:30-5 p.m. Fed and meds at 8:30pm, bed at around 10 p.m. Most transfers are done with a hoyer lift. Baths are 3 times a week. Tuesday, Thursday, Saturdays. sometimes more often if needed. He does have seizures. About the care needs: A christian, someone who believes in God and has a personal relationship with the Lord. Compassionate and caring. outgoing, fun loving personality. Need to know how to feed from a stomach tube or be willing to learn. Not afraid of seeing seizures and help talk him through them. transfer with a Hoyer lift. Possibly help bathe or clean up if he has had a BM. Nursing or medical background would be a huge plus. Services needed include: companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
