About who needs care: Alzheimer's dementia - severe short term memory loss Able to ambulate, dress herself, eat, perform ADLs. Likes to garden, which she still does. Korean speaking preferred. She understands English and used to speak it, but now tends to speak Korean, even with people who are clearly not Korean speakers. She is fine staying at home. With encouragement, she will go out for walks in the neighborhood. She needs someone to make sure she is not doing anything unsafe (e. g. turning on the stove to boil water then forgetting). About the care needs: Korean speaking would be ideal, b/c increasingly she is speaking in Korean with everyone (but still understands English spoken to her). She has a bright, humorous demeanor, laughs easily. Someone who is a little playful. If the caregiver has musical talents like piano (they have a keyboard) or singing, I could see my mom easily engaged in doing that. Gardening - my mom loves to putter around the garden, collect leaves, prune small plants. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
