About who needs care: This individual is 71 years old and lives in an independent living community. She has mental competency. No dementia. No incontinence. The independent living facility provides meals and weekly housekeeping. She is able to dress herself, but help may be needed with getting clothes out of her closet and providing standby assistance on "weaker" days as she is a fall risk. She also needs standby assistance twice per week for showering. She needs care in the morning and evening to bring a meal to her (or take her to the dining room) and ensure that she takes her medications properly as she has a history of misusing them. We are looking for approximately 2-3 hrs/day. Schedule: 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the evening, 1 hour for showers 2x/week, and occasional trips to doctor appointments. About the care needs: Female caregiver preferred. Patience, warmth, and gentle encouragement (not pushiness) is necessary. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and mobility assistance.
