About who needs care: My wonderful Uncle Johnny has mobility needs and is at the moment unable to walk. There are signs of cognitive decline and memory lapses. He has two different lifts, various powered wheelchairs and a wheelchair accessible shower. My incredible Aunt Suzie has been taking care of him and needs help. He loves to listen to music and was an incredible machinist before macular degeneration made it too difficult. Their ideal day is waking 9-9:30, a light breakfast (as he is trying to lose weight) and bath/shave/shower etc. light exercise, and then he pretty much naps until dinner. About the care needs: My Aunt & Uncle are of Christian Faith, and good people, and both Uncle and Aunt are good people, and I am sure both the care giver and I will roll our eyes from time to time as well.. a specialized skill is patience; I have to tell myself this daily.. As far as hobbies and interests, Johnny is engaged and quite knowledgeable and would be happy to hear about his caregivers interests im sure. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
