About who needs care: Cough syncope prevents driving, and major depression and social anxiety has me unable and unmotivated to keep up with basic housekeeping and socialization. I had interests in cooking/baking, gaming such as card and boardgames, video and tabletop, movies, shows, comedy, music, reading and used to be fairly active with tennis, running, swimming and snowboarding, or simply meaningful talks about most any topic, but depression has taken the joy out of most hobbies, interests and socializing, while fatigue and anxieties have made me highly inactive. Ideally a visit would include 25-50% light housework as-needed to help me maintain my list and keep me motivated to stay on top of things on my own. Any remaining time I find it meaningful to socialize through talking, watching shows and movies, playing games, and pushing towards going for walks or other forms of "exposure therapy" to keep my growth and recovery in socialization active. About the care needs: I would look for a kind, positive and empathetic personality that is willing to take the initiative in helping me with light housework, as it can be difficult for me to ask for even the most minor of help. While I feel the most accomplished when there is very little to do, it would be helpful if the caregiver actively sought out ways they could help instead of being asked for each task. It would be wonderful to have a conversationalist that enjoys speaking about anything from small talk and personal life and hobbies to current events, politics (non-confrontational) or anything in between. I am agnostic and "left-leaning" but highly accepting of those that do not share the same as long as it does not cause friction in conversational topics or personal ideals. Ideally I would like someone capable of semi-prolonged light housework, minor bending or lifting as needed, daily walks, and moderate usage of a single flight of stairs, or possibly even someone that can motivate and join me in more active pursuits in the future such as swimming, (light) weight lifting, jogging, etc to begin building stamina and strength again. Shared hobbies in anything "nerdy" such as games, reading, technology, anime, etc. is nice, but not required. Or in-line with other hobbies such as cooking, movies/shows, comedy, writing, music, animals, or simply enjoys talking would be delightful. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
