About who needs care: My dad needs help with keeping up his hygiene and bathroom assistance. Make sure he eats and drinks plenty of fluids also. He and my mother have Dementia and My mother isn't able to help him with any tasks as she suffers from memory loss and will often forget who he is. She won't require any services but having another person here for him makes her at ease. A good routine would be a shower in the mornings or when needed if he has an accident followed by some food. Help him with restroom trips or change depends if he has an accident. About the care needs: He served in the military as a fighter pilot and enjoyed cars, and his car magazines. Skills needed are able to work through my dad telling people to leave when he believes he doesn't need the help, and I think that is mostly with men care takers. We do have a part time woman for him now that he allows to do everything he needs done. However always caring isn't able to schedule people reliably for us. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
