About who needs care: High blood pressure, back pain/issues, occasional memory issues, mobility issues (uses walker in/out of the home most days), repeats a lot. She used to do a lot of crafts (cross-stitch, making Kleenex boxes). She loves Disney and teddy bears (collected Cherished Teddy and Disney figurines for decades). I live there 1/2 time, but she gets lonely, and I want her to have someone to keep her company for a few hours a couple of days a week when I'm not there and possibly take walks with her around the neighborhood and help with basic cleaning of her bathroom, living room, and kitchen area would be welcome. The family generally takes her to medical/dental appointments, but if they can take her on days we might not be available or unexpected issues come up, that would be ideal. She wakes up at 6:30 a.m. for meds, I have her on a pill schedule that she's great at handling and I have med alarms that go off when she needs to take them. She does things around the house all day, organizing things since she moved to Lodi full time since Thanksgiving, but had back issues that allowed her to work around there the past few months. She wants to retain as much independence as possible but gets lonely when I'm not there. About the care needs: Someone extremely patient and used to dealing with elderly people. Someone that enjoys doing crafts would be perfect, since it would be a shared interest for topics of conversation. Mom talks to herself a lot (auditory learner, helps her work through her thought processes). She also gets a bit flustered at times when she's unable to find the right words. She's hard of hearing, so likely will ask the person to repeat a lot. We have two friendly cats that generally keep to themselves when company comes. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
