About who needs care: Tries to be very sufficient but needs help at times. Edward has a diagnosis of dementia but is very early stages. He can shower& dress himself but does not shop, cook or clean. He has some memory problems and needs reminders to take breaks or to come eat meals. He likes to garden and is very friendly and likes to chat about current events and also good old days. He walks with a cane inside but on the sidewalks outside he uses a rolling walker. He finds things to do on his own so mostly he needs help with household chores , meals and having a person to make sure he is safe. About the care needs: Kind and patient. Edward is starting to have hearing issues and at times he needs things repeated as he misunderstands. It would be nice if they knew how to cook & clean a bit. We have had caregivers who came straight from high school with no life skills ! Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
