About the job
About who needs care: My good friend Andrea has ALS and cannot function very well on her own- she needs help with meals, bathing and moving around. She has specialized equipment and computer gadgets to help with communication and getting around but I want to hire someone to take some of the burden off of her family. About the care needs: Need a very patient person. Compassionate. Likely nursing skill training. Ability to help lift and move a 120lb person and help feed and bathe them. ALS takes away physical abilities but Andrea's mind is sharp and she can hear OK - so the ability to speak to her and show love and kindness would help. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
