About who needs care: She has memory issues but is otherwise healthy. She is on anti seizure medication. She enjoys crocheting but forgets how to follow a pattern. She enjoys getting out of the house- walking, gardens, dogs, crafts. We are looking for someone that could take her out of the house- maybe go to the mall, botanical gardens, out to coffee, out to lunch, interesting places, maybe to an exercise class. On bad weather days, it would be nice for her to be able to have someone to help with crochet, play games, bake cookies, etc. She is only 53 and doesn't qualify for some senior programs, but she is on Medicare because of her disability. Meals and entrance fees would be included. About the care needs: Someone with patience and a positive personality that will pay attention to her and not be on their phone constantly. No specialized skills except for tolerance and patience. If she has a breakthrough seizure, she just needs to sit-down for a minute- she doesn't have convulsions. She can do many tasks, she just needs direction as she gets confused. If someone knows how to crochet, that would be nice, but not necessary. Someone who has the initiative to plan different activities and doesn't need someone to plan for them. For example, perhaps a craft or game- they can let my niece know of supplies needed and she will provide them but won't have to plan the activity. Someone who enjoys their job and would enjoy having lunch or coffee with her. Services needed include: transportation, and companionship.
