About who needs care: Post op abdominal surgery, will need assistance with personal tasks, household chores, grocery shopping etc. Except for surgery, this person is very active, usually bicycling, swimming, walking or even all three activities in a day. Has no cognitive impairment. Is not supposed to bend, lift, do physical activity for 6-8 weeks. Just want her to have some help in the first four weeks. I suppose she'll read a lot of books or watch movies or other table activities. Has husband. Service is not needed for him. About the care needs: Female caregiver preferred. May need to perform personal tasks? I'm not sure.... bathroom? Bathing? Shower? For the first 1 or 2 weeks? My relative is worried about who will strip, wash, and make the bed or who will put the groceries away. Vacuum. Dishes. Etc. Nothing heavy or too much. Light housework. Has a husband but he has a bad back and usually leaves the house chores for her to do. You know. She may not accept any help, I just wanted to check options. She is a very nice, chatty person who never wants to be a bother to anyone. Always takes care of others. I live in another state. It's my mother in law. She has two grown male children also out of state. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
