About who needs care: My mom is on hospice care at home with full time oxygen. She has advanced stage COPD, AFib, Pacemaker, Congestive Heart Failure and had her artificial hip removed and replaced with an antibiotic spacer. Essentially, she is missing a hip and is basically bed ridden. She needs help transferring from bed to couch or bedside commode. She wears a diaper to sleep with a PureWick in place. She loves Jesus and her family and friends. She is very kind and very funny. I have a care plan for the entire day which details her meals and in between times. She mostly watches TV but loves conversation. She has friends visit several times per week in the afternoon. She receives 5 breathing treatments per day that my father and I administer. She moves from bed to couch for the day where she stays until dinner. After dinner she moves to bed and the PureWick is placed. She's a beautiful, wonderful woman.
