About who needs care: Female, 79 y. o. wheelchair, non-ambulatory(Hoyer lift avail.), with mod. Dementia (non-aggressive) and M. S. needs morning clean-up/dress/transfer(11am) for breakfast and transfer to recliner. Afternoon needs: Water minding, companionship, snacks, TV remote assistance, and monitoring/assistance during in home care checks (Nurse, PT). Client is cheerful, observant, quiet, dry sense of humor, enjoys music and loves animals especially dogs. Enjoys watching TV series including serial dramas, and especially renovation shows on HGTV. She has wheelchair accessible vehicle and enjoys rides to get ice cream, see horses, or grab coffee, but mainly enjoys outdoor patio garden and watching TV. Family is attentive and responsive to needs. Home is light, bright, without odor, spacious, tidy, updated, and fully wheelchair accessible. Errands and Medical Appt. s on occasion. Client's vitals are monitored daily. No transfers to toilet/wears diapers. Nurse service changes catheter. With right fit caregiver there is opportunity for more hours. This is an IHSS position with some pay flexibility. Family can sub in on some days with notice to allow for caregiver personal (medical, family events). This is a long term position. About the care needs: Ideal female caregiver would pay attention to details, take care of business, and also be able to relax and hold a casual conversation animals, flowers, design ideas, and find some enjoyment in the relaxed afternoon and be willing to leave home clean and tidy and ready for next shift. Ideal caregiver would be observant and communicate to family Carol's needs, household needs (groceries, supplies, etc.) and be a good communicator. Also being willing to pick-up grocery order 1x week on way in to work (park and call). Caregiver needs CA Driver's License and proof of insurance to operate vehicle. References attached to responses would be ideal. Ideal candidate would be able to express why they are a good fit for the job and be comfortable interacting with family who drop in for visits. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
