About who needs care: 1.) severe ankylosing spondilitis 2.) recent post spinal fusion surgery & lumbar ligature installation 3.) recent cardio/thoracic surgery for lung issues & installation of inferior vena cava filter (IVC filter) to protect against DVT blood clots 4.) live alone/no family/never married/no children 5.) don't drive and require transportation to appointments on occasion 6.) require 2 canes to ambulate; difficulty with, and dangerous to, ambulate beyond 300 yards 7.) can not remain standing for more than 45-60 minutes 8.) ex-college teacher; ex-professional musician; amateur cooking enthusiast; retired electronic engineer; proficiency with computers; animal lover; pending arrival of 2nd AKC Golden Retriever service dog around October 2025; history buff; aspiring creative writer; animal lover 9.) don't drink alcohol; don't smoke tobacco; don't consume recreational drugs 10.) live in a 1-bedroom, in a beautifully isolated, gated, and secured HUD subsidized housing facility for seniors & the disabled in the stunning Berkeley hills [with no residential and/or street thru traffic] 11.) 2 hour parking restriction WITHOUT SECTION F neighborhood parking permit. 12.) 15 minute drop off/pick up; but no onsite parking 13.) need help putting on clothes & socks (sometimes) 14.) early riser; night owl About the care needs: type of personality: possesses good humor; takes pride in their work; has a good work ethic; easy going (is not high strung); has patience; is curious; shows empathy and concern; is organized; perceives personal boundaries specialized skills: quick to pick up new skills as a situation arises; an ability to recognize, and/or invent, solution(s); nursing skills (or a background in); can work with my body weight of 175+ Lbs specific hobbies/interests: cooking; Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, and light housekeeping.
