About who needs care: My mother is having a hip replacement on January 12th and I'd like to have someone help her at home with post-op. My dad is there but has had a stroke and is not able to provide enough care. She will need someone to stop by for no more than an hour each afternoon/evening for a week or 10 days until she is able to manage on her own. They need help with basic household tasks, perhaps some meal prep, and some post-op care such as ice machine and maybe wound care. About the care needs: My mom can be direct and abrasive at times after surgery when she is on pain killers and dealing with pain management. Ideal care giver is someone with both thick skin and sensitive enough to listen to what she needs and perform tasks the way she wants them to as appropriate. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
