About who needs care: 84 yr old with vascular dementia & cardiac decline. Need help with personal hygiene and daily activities. Is fully ambulatory. Likes to watch TV & family movies, listen to music and eat good food. About the care needs: He lives with his wife and she cannot talke care of his declining state. Whoever takes care of my dad will need to get along with my mom. She is pretty independent and takes pride in doing what she can to help with my dad, but will not help with any personal care. My dad really does not have any hobbies anymore. My dad is a 1st gen Italian American & ex Marine. Very strong personality. Will need a caregiver who can handle his sarcasm and declining state. They need to have prior experience with taking care of elderly/dementia/alzheimers. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
