About who needs care: My grandparents live alone in their home independently but are needing more assistance with household tasks, grocery shopping/ meal prep, cleaning and keeping track of medications. My grandmother is having short term memory loss, my grandfather is very hard of hearing but can understand if you type the message, and both use walkers. They sleep in most days and love watching their programs but our family wants to help them with tasks around the home and making sure they are safe at home. They need help preparing meals, taking medications, getting to and from doc appts, possibly getting to/ from bathroom or shower, and sometimes just keeping them company. Needs and tasks will increase as they continue to age. About the care needs: We are looking for someone trustworthy, patient, and caring. Someone who will be patient with them both with hearing loss and memory loss issues. We want to help them continue living independently. We may ask this person to relay information to us - appointments or other information and we would ask you to be in contact with us twice weekly as we live out of state. The person we seek should have prior experience with seniors Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
