About the job
About who needs care: I have a couple procedures coming up. The first being this Thursday. Basically, I need a ride to the surgery center and back home and someone to wait for me while I'm having the procedure done. I'm not receiving general anesthesia, so I will be awake after procedure. My family is all working on that day. The relative that's watching me at home does not want to drive. In about a month, I will be in a similar situation and need to hire help again. About the care needs: A caregiver with patience and a sense of humor. Maybe somewhat athletic. I have Narcolepsy with cataplexy (when I laugh, my knees buckle, but ive never fallen to the ground). The doctor is concerned about the medication triggering cataplexy after the procedure). That's why I said somewhat athletic. I'm also an athlete and I'm not prone to falling. However, if I do make it all the way to the floor, I might need some help getting up. But the more I laugh, the more chance of cataplexy. It's a fun vicious cycle! (I'm kidding, but that's the main reason for needing assistance afterwards) Services needed include: transportation.
