About who needs care: He is currently recovering from a series of falls that occurred January, which resulted in 4 broken ribs. The falls are related to a stroke he suffered in June '24. He is struggling with some lasting effects of the stroke, namely, his speech - he can be difficult to understand at times, and his sense of humor can be very crude. He also has Vascular Dementia and can be forgetful. He is super easy going, friendly, and enjoys social contact. He will likely spend the majority of the day on his tablet and/or sleeping. He needs help with daily hygiene, meals, and medications. Must be comfortable around dogs (just one). About the care needs: The ideal caregiver would, of course, be caring, patient, honest, reliable, etc... But also be able to form a friendship with him, since you'll be spending much of the week with him. He likes to watch shows and movies on his tablet and is always open to new suggestions and conversation about what he's watching or has watched. He also has an extensive knowledge of classic rock music. He has a guitar and keyboard and is musically inclined when he is motivated to play. He does have a pretty crude, uninhibited, unfiltered sense of humor and says whatever comes to mind. You having a sense of humor and ability to be unfazed would be very ideal. No special skills are needed on your part, but he will need help with hygiene, meals prep, taking medicine, and general supervision. Services needed include: meal preparation, light housekeeping, and bathing / dressing.
