About who needs care: My mother has torn muscles in her dominate shoulder so she has very limited upper body strength. This adds to her problems of using a walker and being to clean her entire body even with cleansing wipes. She has had bilateral hip replacements as well as one knee replacement. She has osteoporosis and over the last seven years she has broken her left femur (spiral fracture) and broken left femur twice (two spiral fractures, the first the majority of her femur and the second right above the knee). She was sent home from rehab before she was ready and was bedbound. Now she can barely walk and can only make it to the toilet for bowel movements and this is with a great deal of help. She has to wear briefs and they have to be changed at least twice a day. About the care needs: Someone physically able to assist my mother in standing up and moving around with the aid of a gait belt as well as pushing a wheel chair. Someone who is willing to change her briefs replace pads and chuck pads on the bed when they get wet. While not absolutely necessary someone who can do laundry and/or meal prep would be beneficial. Services needed include: feeding, and bathing / dressing.
