In need of elderly care for my 80-year-old mother, who recently suffered a stroke and was admitted to a skilled nursing facility. She has mild dementia and limited mobility due to chronic pain from arthritis, requiring assistance with daily activities such as transportation for doctor appointments, meal preparation, and bathing. Additionally, she may need help with hygiene, restroom assistance, and meal assembly. The ideal candidate should possess experience in elderly care and experience with developing dementia. Bilingualism in Spanish and English is a significant advantage. Prior experience in memory care or dementia care would also be beneficial. The caregiver will be responsible for assisting with dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene. They will also provide support with restroom assistance and meal preparation, as needed. My mother enjoys reading, crocheting, and watching television. She also enjoys a good conversation. The caregiver will be provided with parking in the driveway and will not be required to use public transportation. We do have a dog, a friendly and energetic Boston terrier, who will be present during the caregiver's visits. Weekly schedules may differ depending on my schedule. Occasional overnight stays would be a plus. My job sometimes requires me to be away or work late.
