About who needs care: My mother has dementia and difficulty with mobility. She enjoys conversations and reading when feels up to it. She also enjoys watching football games on TV and napping. Her ideal day is always going to be playing itar and doing what she feels like when she feels like it. About the care needs: The ideal caregiver should be female, kind, and very patient. This person should feel comfortable with dressing and changing my mother when needed and be able to clean up after an "accident" when it happens. I would like this person to have a lot of empathy and be able to know what to do in a stressful situation. For example, if my mother experienced a fall, the caregiver would handle the situation calmly and quickly. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
