I have two cats; Evan and his mother Leia. They are very shy when it comes to new people. I just need someone to feed them wet food once a day, clean their litter and make sure they are alright. They have an automatic dispenser for their dry food that I will fill before I leave. You can try to play with them if they allow you to get close to them. Other than that they are very independent and get along with each other well. I leave toys and treats out for them to play together.
