All 3 of my dogs are seniors. Bussy (papillon/german shepherd mix) will be 13 this year, Smooches (chihuahua) will be 17 and Mitzy (chihuahua/austrailian cattle dog/fox and rat terrier mix) is estimated to be 14-15 years. Mitzy has severe separation anxiety. She gets scared and nervous with anything new or being left alone for periods of time. She has been like this since adoption. She does well staying in her home along with her brother and sister. No special vet care is needed, only glucosamine is given daily. Feeding time is once a day at 1:30 p.m. . Bussy and Mitzy get a cup of food and smooches a 1/2 cup. They have a huge fenced in yard to roam in, just open the door and let them go out. I usually let them out frequently. Smooches wont go out in cold and is pee pad trained.
