If there is no avoiding, just have him heel and he will follow you until you have him break. He has dermodex (skin condition) and HAS to have his cone, jamies, and leg warmers on the entire time. When they meet other animals, especially dogs, he doesn't mind them, especially if they are at a distance. He is trained, but that doesn't mean he won't test you by pretending he doesn't know the commands, so I'll have you walk him with me the first time just to show you what to do when he does see another dog.
