About the job
I had the same housekeeper for over 30 years, but she recently retired, so I'm needing help keeping up with everything. It's a large house (3 floors), but most weeks only two beds/bedrooms and two floors need cleaning. But occasionally 3-5 beds on 3 different floors will need changing after we've had houseguests. The floors are all wood and need sweeping/mopping, except carpeted bedrooms plus a few rugs that need vacuuming. I do all the kitchen cleaning myself, but need help with bathrooms, bedrooms, floors, dusting, laundering of sheets/towels (not clothes). My previous housekeeper would show up around 8:30 or 9 a.m. on Monday morning and leave around 4:00 p.m. (with a lunch break around noon). However, she worked more slowly than most people would, so most days 4 hours is probably enough.
