House Manager / Family Assistant
We are a busy family of four with two children (ages 7 and 4.5), both in full-time school. We're looking for a responsible, proactive, and organized house manager / family assistant to help with household tasks, light meal preparation, errands, and occasional after-school childcare. Our ideal candidate is patient, detail-oriented, punctual, and adaptable, with strong communication skills and the ability to take initiative.
Employment Type: Part-time (15-20 hours/week)
Proposed Start Date: ASAP
Compensation: $25-$30/hour based on experience
Requirements: Non-smoker, pass background check, has transportation
Proposed Schedule:
Flexible hours between 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
Schedule to be determined based on family needs and availability
Ability to adjust hours seasonally (e.g., earlier hours in summer, potential afternoon help during the school year)
Flexibility to add more hours if desired
Key Responsibilities:
Household Organization & Management:
Create and maintain household organization systems (closets, pantry, storage areas, kids' belongings, etc.).
Prepare and coordinate donations and pickups.
Manage Amazon, Costco, Target, and other household orders.
Oversee home projects and manage vendors/handyman services as needed.
Help ensure the house is prepped for weekly professional cleaners.
Meal Prep & Grocery Shopping:
Light meal preparation, including packing school lunches for the kids and meal planning for the family.
Grocery shopping for household staples and meal prep items.
Preference for healthy meals (one parent is gluten, dairy, and soy-free, kids eat dairy and gluten).
Errands & Household Tasks:
Run errands such as dry cleaning, returns, gift shopping, and store pickups
Manage hot tub maintenance (e.g., checking salt levels, using test strips).
Laundry & Home Maintenance:
Manage household laundry (bedding, towels, clothing).
Light ironing and steaming as needed.
Occasional deep cleaning and organization (fridge/freezer, storage areas).
Afterschool Childcare Support (if needed):
Pick up children from school and assist with supervision and afterschool routines (snacks, light homework, activities).
Ensure a smooth transition to family evening time.
Occasional babysitting during school breaks or evenings (optional and negotiable).
Additional Information:
Use of family car is available for errands.
Parents primarily work from home but value help in keeping the household running efficiently.
Summer schedule will shift slightly as children will be in full-day camps.
