Position Available: Professional Housekeeper
Location: Palo Alto, CA
Residence Size: 1200 sq/ft
Schedule: Twice a week, 3-4 hours per visit
We are seeking an experienced and meticulous housekeeper to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and order in a private residence. The successful candidate will exhibit exceptional attention to detail and work collaboratively with the Household Manager and other staff members.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Cleaning:
o Maintain cleanliness and order in all living areas, bedrooms, bathrooms, and common spaces
o Sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, showers, bathtubs, countertops, and sinks
o Disinfect surfaces, dust baseboards, and clean windows
o Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors
o Make beds and change linens
Kitchen and Dining:
o Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces and refrigerator
o Maintain the cleanliness of the outdoor kitchen and dining area
o Wash dishes
Laundry and Linens:
o Perform laundry services and change linens weekly
Organization and Supplies:
o Organize and maintain cleanliness of closets, cabinets, and drawers
o Monitor and replenish household supplies, including cleaning products and toiletries
Guest Preparation:
o Prepare guest rooms for visitors
Additional Duties:
o Manage waste collection: place garbage cans out on Wednesdays and return them post-collection on Thursdays
o Conduct occasional grocery shopping
o Address minor household issues, such as smoke detectors
Equipment and Supplies: All necessary cleaning equipment and supplies will be provided. The use of only supplied cleaning products is required, with minimal use of chemicals (e. g., Dawn for general cleaning, Lysol for toilet bowls).
Candidate Requirements:
Licensed to clean residential homes
Demonstrated ability to perform tasks efficiently and independently
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to pass a background check
Trial Period: Candidates will be required to complete a one-week trial period, which will be compensated.
