About the job
Looking to expand a greatly needed circle of support, as I am a single parent. A 17-year-old boy with Down syndrome and a 15-year-old girl with ASD, both attend high school within easy walking distance from my home. As a hospitalist, I have to be at work very early, often stay late, but very sporadic schedule, but situation is inherently flexible. Weekdays would be 6 a.m. to 9:30am, afternoons would be 3:30 p.m. (Wednesdays 2pm) to end time of 6 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. depending on the day. Kids are incredibly sweet, just not independent enough to do this on their own or be by themselves. Mornings would include supervision with breakfast and prompting steps as they get ready, then walking to school. Afternoons include pickup from school and being present for ABA at home/general support. Weekend days usually are all day.
