Weekend Babysitter! Please Have Experience Working With Mildly Autistic Children.

Hi, I am looking for a playful, patient, confident and capable babysitter for my 5-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter. Ideally, this person has experience with special needs children. My son is curious, talkative and wants opportunities to be a 'big kid.' My daughter is more reserved and calm, although can struggle with separation anxiety when we first leave. She is autistic, and can struggle to find the words to communicate what she needs. They are both in school and are used to being watched by babysitters. Ideally, the babysitter would help serve them dinner, play with them and do the bedtime routine when needed. We have a park nearby and it would be great if the sitter were comfortable enough to take both kiddos there occasionally. We are mainly looking for someone to come every other weekend for an evening or morning/lunch time - we can be flexible! Outdoor activities, opportunities to problem solve and make mistakes, kindness to one another and playfulness. My son loves planes, cars, baby dolls and being outside digging in dirt or playing with a ball. He also loves opportunities to help and have a 'job.' My daughter loves coloring, stickers, playdoh and playing with stuffed animals. They both love puppets, and pretend play. My kids need help finding things they can both enjoy together. My daughter needs help with many functional processes like getting in and out of her chair, and getting out her supplies (like play doh or markers). My son is incredibly capable and independent but can need help having patience with his sister. We are looking for someone who has experience with special needs/autistic children, and with very active children. This person needs to exhibit patience, playfulness and an ability to set clear and consistent boundaries. There is street parking available for free in front of our home. We are about 1. 3 miles from east falls church metro. We do not have any pets.
