Our ideal day would start with a caregiver coming to our home at 7 a.m. (there is a bus stop less than a mile away, if needed). They would help us with breakfast and watching the girls while we got ready for work. We would then bring our 3-year-old to preschool at 9, and the caregiver would be with the baby until 1 (tummy time, reading/playing, getting down for a nap, and if able help with some light housework such as running the dishwasher and preparing snacks and next day's school lunch). At 1pm, our 3-year-old would come home and the caregiver would help with adjusting back home, snack, and playing and reading. Ideally, we would have someone be able to stay until 4:15/4:30 in case we were running a few minutes behind wrapping up work or needing time to check in together, but we could also end firmly at 4.
