The Classroom Teacher will share duties and work in partnership with the co-teacher assigned to the classroom, and will keep the staff administrator informed of pertinent issues regarding staff, children, families and the school. They will implement curriculum with consistency in the classroom, and will maintain classroom records and developmental checklists as provided by the curriculum. They will oversee and coordinate the children's personal care, hygiene, learning activities, specialized programs, and positive guidance. They will implement an on-time and consistent classroom schedule - including outdoor time, meals, snacks, enrichment, and special activities. They will use Conscious Discipline techniques consistent with state regulations, and communicate with children when social, academic, or adjustment problems arise. They will actively participate in school events, staff training sessions, meetings, and programs. They will ensure that the classroom and other play areas are consistently clean and safe. They will update Smartcare as needed throughout the day, with at least one picture of each child per day.
