About the job
Hi! We are a family of 5 (plus a goldendoodle) living in Mt. Pleasant. Our youngest daughter A (8) has special needs including Down syndrome and Autism. She is very sweet and lovable, but also very active, and needs close attention most all of the time. We also have an older daughter (13), and a son (11). We are hoping to find someone to help us balance all the demands at home, most often by helping to spend time with A so that we can also keep up with the rest of a busy life with multiple young kids. A is nonverbal, so she requires someone intuitive to read what she is trying to communicate and how she feels. She is tube fed, which is a skill that can be pretty easily learned with some practice. We are also working on potty training with her. She is currently in school from 7a-2p, and we would need more hours in summer.
