Danny is our "special needs" son. He is non-verbal, ambulatory with help, quite small for his age (born in 1976). He weighs about 100 lbs , is 5 ft. tall. He has a developmental condition called "Cri-du-Chat Syndrome." A chromosomal abnormality resulting in severe retardation. He requires help for daily care, but is very active. Think of a 2 yr. old -- loves to explore, play with favorite toys, etc. Danny requires help with meals, dressing, bathing, etc. He has a VERY PLEASANT personality. Not aggressive, nor non-compliant. Likes attention and interaction. We have waiver funds from Lawrence County Human Services to hire a "Supports Worker" -- providing short-term respite for us (his parents) in our home, where Danny lives. If interested, we'll share much more information. Possibly up to 10-12 hours a week.
