Part-Time Lead Toddler Teacher - Sellwood Co-op Program Hello! We're a small, part time toddler co-op located in the heart of Sellwood, and we're currently looking for a caring, experienced Lead Teacher to join our community. This part-time position (20-25 hours/week) will focus on leading our group of 18- to 24-month-olds, in collaboration with our other lead teacher and program director. About Us: We're a play-based, child-led program rooted in emergent curriculum, RIE philosophy, and anti-bias education. As a co-op model, parents actively participate in the classroom on a rotating basis, creating a truly collaborative and connected community. Schedule & Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30-11:30 a.m. (some children stay until 12:30 PM) Your hours would be approximately 8:15 a.m. - 12:00/1:00 p.m. Responsibilities: Lead the 18-24 month classroom with warmth and intention Plan curriculum in collaboration with our director and fellow lead teacher Support daily routines including diapering, toileting, snack, circle time, and sensory/art invitations Maintain a clean, safe, and engaging classroom environment Guide and support parents in their classroom roles Attend regular planning meetings with the director and teaching team Ideal Candidate: Experience with toddlers (especially ages 18 months-3. 5 years) Familiarity with RIE, play-based learning, and emergent curriculum is a big plus Strong communication and collaboration skills Comfortable working with both children and adults in a co-op setting Open-minded, inclusive, and committed to anti-bias education Perks & Benefits: Paid closure days (including major holidays, spring break, and a two-week winter break) PTO and paid training stipend for ongoing education A supportive, connected, and joyful teaching environment Start date: 5/05/25 Please note: This position begins with a 30-day trial period, to ensure it's a great mutual fit.
